The news just came out. CNN announced a massive redesign to their site, CNN.com.
The new site will be live next Monday 26th and promises to be a drastic change from the status quo, including a more interesting interface designed thinking on the average user - supposedly heavy on video - and content that ranges from sources such as TED, EW Magazine, Oprah.com among others, and of course original one crafted by their editorial team.
There is no doubt that CNN has been ahead of the game among news networks when it comes to stay fresh and relevant. They proved during Obama's inauguration and continue to do so. What The New York Times has done with Print, CNN is doing it with News.

While the redesign of the site is cute, there highest responsibility is to the information they broadcast to the largest audience. That is still TV. And I must say that CNN is increasingly incomplete and unsatisfactory on their coverage of the news. I am actually a big fan of the content available online for there Latino in America series. However what they broadcasted for the largest audiences was terribly incomplete and unoriginal. Cute site, but substance is king. so far I will judge them as a bit of smoke and mirrors.
