A Victory for my Roots

I have mixed feelings about this.

One part of my heart is sad because Madrid did not win. Not only because they have had an amazing year in sports and they deserved it, but also because I LOVE the city and was expecting to use the Olympics as an excuse to go and visit some old friends. Selfish I know.

But another part of me is happy because of the historical meaning of the decision. It is the first time a South American country is chosen to host such as magnificent event and, as a born and raised Latin American that's definitely worth to celebrate.

Congrats to Rio for such a accomplishment. Can't wait to be there in 2016!
