I am a strong believer in the power of shared knowledge.
It is as a key pillar within any organization. And in life.
Those who understand that knowledge is a perishable and increasingly short-lived are the ones that believe in making use of it before it loses its value.
They are also the ones that create a Knowledge Sharing Culture within their organizations, just by making knowledge sharing - not just information - the norm.
Perhaps that's one of the reasons why I like so much what the guys at CP+B are doing with their FearLess Q+A. I don't know about you but from my side of the screen it certainly looks like a sort of dose of shared knowledge delivered to the entire creative community every week.
I personally loved last's week edition - the best of the series so far. It featured Alex Bogusky and Tiffany Kosel in what I can just described as an odd - yet interesting - portfolio review session. These guys reviewed books from students and shared some advices on how to land in a creative position.
Now, those who knows me know that I am a huge fan of Tiffany's work. Her career is pretty impressive. But aside from fanaticism, what I liked the most about her show here was how sincere it came through. No script, no agenda. You can tell she truly wanted to spend one hour away from her busy schedule to help the creative community... by sharing some knowledge.
I took away one thing from this: companies need to help people see for themselves that knowledge sharing is in their personal interest. Is to shift the old paradigm of “knowledge is power” to “sharing knowledge is power”.
Kuddos to Tiffany. Looking forward to @colindrummond this Thursday.
